There are many wonderful sights in the city, both ancient and modern, all within easy distance by foot or bus. Depending upon the time you have available and what your interests are,
I’m here to help and guide you. As a start here are a few ideas but, don't forget, checkout Visit Aalborg’s website (www.visit-aalborg.dk) for lots more possibilities.
Shopping, a coffee and Danish?
Aalborg’s compact city centre is ideal for those who like shopping and window-shopping. You’ll find an exciting display of Danish design in large departmental stores, smaller boutiques and artisan workshops in the city’s many pedestrian streets and hidden corners. There is a comprehensive range of products to suit all tastes and pockets. Look out for the speciality shops offering Danish designed and made products and souvenirs. Watch whilst the shop assistant gift wraps your purchases; it's all part of the service.
Tired from all that shopping? We’re famous for our large selection of cafés, bistros, coffee shops, pubs and restaurants. Take a seat and rest your feet whilst you try our famous ‘smørrebrød’ (open sandwiches) or ‘wienerbrød’ (Danish pastries) with a Danish beer, coffee, tea or, if you’re feeling very adventurous, a shot of Aalborg Akvavit (aquavit or snaps).
